Our use of alternate forms of energy really has a long history. People used the wind and sun energy long before they burned wood and other materials for light and heat. This is a look at some of the information about alternative energy and the history of how people use it. Some sources on the Internet say that All forms of energy such as wind, hydropower, and biomass (burning wood etc.) are forms of solar energy.
When we say energy saving hour it doesn’t only mean that we are only saving energy. We are also saving water. The most common source of energy comes from hydropower. Since water is a common source of our energy it means if we don’t have enough supply of water we have less supply of electricity too. With this fact, it’s telling us that we need to conserve water as possible. Examples would be fixing our water line that have leaks or damaged or minimizing our shower time. If it takes about 10 minutes to take a shower then you can minimize it to 5 minutes if it’s okay with you. Through this you are conserving a lot of water.
Recycle your paper. Home offices consume paper just as much as regular offices do. Are you in the habit of throwing away sheets of paper that you have already used? If the other side is still blank, you can still reuse it as scratch paper. Or you can let your paper pile up and then take it to your local recycling center.
Self-sufficiency: To produce as much of the basic necessities of living from the time and space you can comfortably use. To use as much of the technology that is practical for the production of power supplier and to reduce the use of energy.
We are going to have to be sensible, hardheaded and pragmatic about the whole thing. There are a lot of technologies we can pursue. And we must focus on the most efficient and the most cost effective. We can scrutinize solar, wind, geothermal, not to mention advanced biofuels. And that’s just the short list.
11. Assume you might be wrong! Monitor your decisions and actions to make sure the results are on track and no unintended consequences are showing up.
Demand Fair Trade Practices. Besides the material and energy resources required to make a garment, more light has been shed in recent years on the human resources. Environmentally conscious consumers are urging manufacturers to cease child labor and sweat shop conditions, instead providing employees with fair wages, reasonable hours, safe working conditions, and access to health care.
So, why need to pay huge amounts for electric bills when you can generate your own power? Yes, you can. All you need is a little investment for the installation of panels but you will get the benefits for the rest of your life. Or maybe, you can invest to buy a solar power to at least reduce your power consumption at home. Just imagine how it feels to pay just single digits for electricity and helping the environment at the same time. If you are really serious of generating your very own power, then there’s no other way but to install a solar panel in your house.
