Six Facts About Solar Energy

Have you ever seen a tidal inlet wave, this is where the wave goes from low tide to high tide and travels up a channel, river or inlet. If these waves happen every day at the changing of the tide, then we can collect that energy. If we are very smart about how we collect that energy, we can store the energy we collect and use it throughout the day. I would like to take your mind to a place that you perhaps haven’t thought about before even if you have studied ocean wave generation technologies. Let’s talk.

Now, Tom set his sights on working out a plan to take his home “off the grid”, out of the hands of the public electric works. He needed a way to provide his own electricity, so that he and Barbara could stop using electricity from the city. He did his research and found that he had three options for an alternative power source to bring electricity into their home: solar energy, wind power, and hydropower.

One of the reasons solar energy was not used in the past was it could not be stored and used later. Modern technology has made many strides in storing and using renewable energy. In today’s world, batteries to store solar or wind generated energy are much more efficient.

What is sustainable living? It is conserving the earth’s natural resources for the future generations. The earth’s natural resources have been on the decline since man came to be. It has been said that the price of progress is the earth’s natural wealth. Do you even know what the natural resources are? It is anything that is not manmade: air, water, land, plants, animals, fossil and more. As responsible citizen of the world, you must take measures on preserving and conserving our natural resources. This is not to say that you go picket the lumber mills and stop driving a fuel-powered car. Ask yourself these simple questions. Do you really need to take a long bath on a daily basis? Wouldn’t a quick shower do?

In order to do more than just barely survive, first we have to simplify our lives. We must learn to need and want less. We can learn to get our enjoyment and entertainment from lower cost or free sustainable sources. We live in a time of unbelievable over consumption of all kinds of goods, including expensive food from all over the world. We will need to rely on local products and local food sources. Part of the change that will be coming has to do with the transportation of goods across the world. We will see that slow way down and goods from far away will be extremely expensive. At least until new green energy sources are implemented that change the cost and environmental damage from worldwide transportation of goods.

What is sustainable living? It’s living more simply where “simply” may be defined as “regular” or “unpretentious”. It does not, however, means that you go pack your backpack and tent and go live in the woods and be a hermit. It does not mean you stop eating meat and go vegetarian. It does not mean you forgo of the finer things in life and sulk for the rest of your natural existence. In plain words, living more simply is doing without the unnecessary clutter that you constantly surround yourself.

Hydrogen is most commonly element found of the earth, usually with other elements. If hydrogen is found alone, can be burned or converted into electricity.

Some homes are able to save on energy costs by sealing off the doors. You can buy these weather strip door seals online or at most home appliance stores. They can save you tons of energy and keep the bugs out too. You can buy environmentally friendly products as well as recycle to help conserve energy and create a more sustainable community.
