Every Year Over 500,000 women start their own business. Two out of every three new businesses are started by women. And women are more successful than men. Women have a 75% greater change of success in business ownership!
Wait a minute, there’s more. The same testing was conducted six months later. Guess what? The retention of the material was much higher for the group trained by their own boss.
Fortunately, I was representing a Change blueseedconsulting at the time — so in order to have a meaningful conversation, I needed to know what changes the prospect was currently experiencing or anticipating in the near future. That one question, “What’s Changing?” proved to be incredibly helpful for me and my prospects both.
Her U.K acting career was a great triumph. She enjoyed playing many leading roles she had never hoped to gain while aided by a wig and lots of clever make-up to help hide the physical problems from the audiences. If you think about it, neither result should surprise you. Unless a boss is a very gifted teacher, he or she won’t be as effective as a professional trainer. The professional trainer, however, won’t be hanging around when the formal training ends. The boss can reinforce the training materials, and can ensure they are applied on the job.
Other realtors began to call as well as a home inspector. Those calls led to a series of repair projects on properties waiting to close. One of those repairs turned into an opportunity to add a two-car garage. Another project required removing and replacing a tottering chimney frame and then to painting the entire house. A chance encounter at a building supply store led to building a complete workshop. Like I said, an “accidental business”.
I have to say that I was pretty fortunate in my job search. Shortly after I became unemployed, a friend of mine saw a posting on Craigslist that she thought I’d be perfect for, so she forwarded it to me. I applied, went through several rounds of interviews, and started working there in early March. While my new job offers less money and much poorer benefits than my old job, it’s better than what I thought I’d find and it happened a lot more quickly than I thought it might, so I have no complaints.
