Hello all! Today we discuss internet blogs. Over the past 2 to 3 years internet blogs have ventured into a whole array of companies. It seems that everyone is trying to get one. Though the question should really be are they really helping and what can they do for a company? Today we are going to discuss both personal and business blogs.
A friend of mine (an author) just chalked up a huge publicity campaign for her book where her motto was “no outlet is too small.” She wrote guest posts, participated in interviews, and sent review copies of her book to anyone and everyone that was interested.
The free marketing methods may seem like the hardest, but they’re also the absolute best. It’s going to take a decent amount of real work to get a good amount of traffic online. It will take some time, but in the end it always pays off.
Traditional safelists are becoming somewhat threadbare. Isn’t it amazing how quickly business changes on the ‘Net, and isn’t it weird how safelist people ‘spin their wheels’ by posting, posting, posting, when most messages go to ‘junk’ in-boxes to be automatically deleted. You can send out a whole lot of messages with safelists, but only a tiny percentage are likely to be actually read by a real person. Maybe that’s why email traffic is threatening to choke the Internet. Because of this, many canny web business people have now shifted to weight training as their main tool for promotion. Many others, like me – who continue to believe that safelists have a role (when properly used) -have made blogs a valuable extra facility in their marketing toolboxl.
Start reading some blogs. Do a search in Google for blogs. If you are a chiropractor, search on chiropractic blogs. If you are a graphic designer, search on graphic design blogs. You get the idea. Read what others are doing and writing about. Email them and build your network with these people. Chances are they aren’t your competitors and they might be very willing to help you and perhaps even collaborate with you.
On the other hand, I say this with a sheepish smile, since Blogs are free, I set up another blog in Google for my family and friends where I simply post pictures of the family and news about them. This I have no need to be picked up by web search engines, and just pass out the URL to my kids and close friends. Which is another way to use blogs.
More importantly, a quality dofollow blog subscription service will monitor the comments made and prohibit auto-commenting with software. Violators are removed from the membership. This oversight maintains the integrity of the comments and increase the chances the blogs retain dofollow commenting.
