Benefits Of Cheap Solar Energy

The following are a few facts that will surprise you regarding the average energy usage in the United States. The facts are provided by the Department of Energy. Here are some percentages on energy consumption, 44% on heating and cooling, 30% for lighting cooking and appliances, 18% for water heating and 8% for refrigerators.

As an investor, how can I help sustain the earth? I call it sustainable investing. It is simply investing in companies whose products or services promote the sustainability of the planet. Companies providing technology for renewable energy is a perfect example. In particular, I will talk about solar companies in this post.

hydropower is the massive production of electricity through the conversion of kinetic energy in water into electricity. This is typically undertaken in the form of a dam on a river. Water is held back by the dam and then fed in a controlled manner through it. On its way, the water spins turbines that crank generators and produce electricity. Famous projects include Hoover Dam in the United States, Nasser Dam in Egypt and the new Three Gorges Dam in China.

How many days a month do you have to work just to pay your electricity bill? What could you do with that time or money if you did not have to use it to pay for your electricity?

In many countries tax breaks or credits are available for those who install green energy electricity generation equipment. In the USA, the government and IRS have issued tax breaks or credits for DIY home solar panels for years as an incentive to reduce bulk energy consumption and focus people on sustainable energy sources. No doubt these incentives will increase as the need to move away from carbon intensive forms of electricity generation increase.

This grant scheme is a good start, but will not cover the homeowner, on a small budget, who wants to do only part of the things needed at a time. A plan still needed, is one that is very attractive to all homeowners and is simple and easy to use. It should have grants for smaller projects, since any change for the better helps the environment.

What we must trust in the future is renewable resources. These resources are all resources that provide us with plenty to offer, and never ends. They recharge and allow us to enjoy them again and again. Renewable resources include solar, wind, biomass, hydrogen, geothermal, ocean, and hydropower. We need all this, and we now have access to each of them.
